Gamescom 2012: Dead Space 3

A lot of you guys have been asking for Dead Space 3 news and we have some fresh news right here! EA have just finished their conference at Gamescom and revealed some juicy news on the thrilling horror game. Firstly Isaac Clarke will be able to pick up weapon parts from the floor, which will be used to upgrade your weapon when customising your arsenal.  Not a lot has been announced about the game hitting stores in February 2013.

Dead Space 3 Limited Edition was also announced by EA. The limited edition (when pre-ordered)  will give gamers access to the first two bundles, "First Contact" and "Witness the Truth". Each game bundle will contain a new weapon and a really cool new suit! Further info on the two bundles were released by EA.

First Contact:
"First Contact Suit: This unique EVA (Extra-Vehicular Activity) suit was built by the SCAF (Sovereign Colonies Armed Forces) for encounters with "foreign entities.” It sports a flamboyant golden finish to provide protection from long-term space exposure and thick armor for… unspecified reasons. The suit was given the nickname "First Contact" by the scientists who made it.

Negotiator Weapon: While technically classified by the SCAF as a "scientific instrument,” the gold-plated "Negotiator" is loaded with some surprisingly aggressive hardware. The overclocked, top-mounted Tesla Beam is capable of bursting a man-sized organism into several pieces with a single shot. The bottom-mounted Linegun appears to have been built with the sole purpose of cleanly dismembering organic tissue from a distance."

Witness the Truth:
"Witness Suit: These insulated suits were worn by a SCAF deep dig team assigned to exhume the darkest secrets of Tau Volantis. Whatever they found locked deep in the ice changed them forever. When they emerged weeks later, they were covered head to toe in strange graffiti and claimed to be "Witnesses to the Truth.”

Evangelizer Weapon: A modification of the standard AL-2 used by the Sovereign Colonies Legionaries, this version sports a souped-up AL-2g assault rifle on the top with an Emerson 2100 "Big Boy" tactical shotgun on the bottom. The surviving "Witnesses" of the SCAF deep dig team dubbed it the Evangelizer and decorated them top to bottom with strange symbols."

A new trailer was released and guys it looks amazeballs! Take a look.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Preview

So guys i'm sure by now you've probably seen the Black Ops 2 or Cod Blops 2 as I like to call it. And you are probably getting quite excited about the massive new installment released on November 13th. I thought with the new multiplayer trailer id write a little bit about what you guys can expect. So if you're a noob, camper, a twelve year old who is ridiculously skilled or an adult who constantly gets killed by the ridiculously skilled twelve year old, read on!

This year Call of Duty is taking a new step as the latest installment is a bigger step forwards than any other Cod title. The little bit further in the future setting means tons of new guns, equipment, vehicles and gadgets. In the campaign changes will be present and we have seen that in the E3 demo (below). But how will multiplayer find itself stepping into these new shoes? Arguably the most successful part of the Cod franchise is the multiplayer so they do have to be careful.
What changes might we see?
Well i think we will see a lot of futuristic weapons, maybe updated versions of guns we have seen or even entirely new guns. I hope they do keep a lid on it though as I don't want to see anything too 'Halo-like'. What i'm saying is i don't think we will see a gravity hammer. Ahh i did love the days of Halo 3 online though. Anyone remember Grifball? Sorry i lost track a bit then. Where were we? Right Cod Blops 2. One thing I have seen is some type of electrical emitting grenade which does imply some futuristic changes. Whether it is a lethal grenade or a disorientating one i'm not so sure. What do you think? On top of that in the trailer we see lots of drones, etc that i'm guessing are earned in kill streaks. And thats it really guys watch the trailer see if you can spot some cool stuff and tell me what you found! Remember of course there will a return of Z-Z-ZOMBIE MODE! That will give you guys a lot to sink your teeth into.
Remember to follow me @PoshBoyGaming
And please give me some feedback on your thoughts about myself starting a youtube channel and rebranding to Posh Boy Game Reviews.
Thanks see you soon.

FIFA 13: Massive Career Mode Update!

Hey guys this is going to be short and sweet from me. I got so excited when i came across this article as it tells us a lot about the new FIFA 13 Career Mode. I will link the article here if you'd like to read it over there or you can just read below! Thanks guys now get reading!

*Just to clarify the text in-between the quotation marks was not written by me and are not my own.

"International Management

  • As your reputation as a manager grows in Career Mode you will now be offered the chance to manage International teams in addition to the club side you are already playing with.
  • Your performance and manager reputation in Career Mode dictates the quality of the international offers you will receive.
  • Your nationality and the league you manage in will also effect the type of International offers you receive.
  • Rumours about interested nations will circulate in the press for some months before you actually receive a firm offer.
  • Squad selection will be a key part of your International management duties and deadlines for selections (one week prior to friendlies, one month prior to tournaments) have to be met.
  • International competitions will run in parallel with the club game meaning you could land a job in the middle of a qualifying campaign.
  • International management has it’s own Career Mode “Hub” keeping your club and country separate.

In Match Live Score Updates

  • Whilst playing your Career Mode matches you’ll now receive audio updates from other games being played in your league voiced by Alan Mcinally and Geoff Shreeves.
  • The live updates cover goal, red card and penalty incidents.
  • Example – Shreeves: “Goal at Anfield, Fulham’s Clint Dempsey scores a brilliant freekick to make it 2-1, 73 minutes played” Tyler “Thanks Geoff”
  • You can select/de-select the matches you want to hear audio updates from prior to playing starting your match.

Player Stories

  • Interaction with players is now more regular with instant feedback received based on managerial decisions.
  • Player Stories can now run for months in to Career Mode re-emerging if you go through a bad run of results or when you sell/buy a key player.
  • Specific Player Stories also occur when managing an International team, meaning you’ll need to keep both club and country happy.
  • Fan stories will now make top news in the press based on team performance.

Be A Player

  • Once you’ve chosen your player (VP or real) you receive a set of Season Objectives to complete from the manager. The type of player you choose (forward, midfielder, defender, etc) will shape these objectives.
  • As well as Season Objectives you’ll also be asked to achieve objectives every four matches. This could include, goals, clean sheets, pass/tackle completion percentages, etc. The quality of opposition over these four games will decide the values you are asked to achieve.
  • If you are unhappy you now have the option to request a transfer, or request a loan to gain more match experience.
  • If you choose to play for a top club with a low rated VP you will not be a first team starter to begin with, you’ll be loaned to gain experience first.
  • If fatigued or playing poorly the manager can now substitute your player.
  • Once your playing days are over can can opt to retire and take up management.

Classified Results

  • After each Career Mode match you now receive a rundown of the classified results through in-game audio (think BBC Final Score)
  • League table updates are also fed back to you as well as any upcoming fixtures. These audio sequences happen less regularly than the classified results.
  • When this audio is running you can still browse all Career Mode menus and continue to the next game week.

Managers Office

  • You can now view any available managerial positions via the Jobs Board, this allows you to change clubs mid season should you wish to.
  • Your manager now appears on the touchline in matches based on customisation options chosen at the start of Career Mode.

Transfer Negotiations

  • The transfer system has been completely re-written for Career Mode in FIFA 13.
  • You can now offer player plus cash and player trade deals to the CPU.
  • When offering to loan players you can now set a future purchase price to sign the player permanently at the end of the loan period.
  • When the CPU makes an offer for one of your players you can now choose to “Counter Offer” to ask for more money. The CPU will then choose to accept, reject or make a counter offer of their own.
  • Contract negotiations now contain advice from your Chief Executive which act as a guide to what they think the club and player may want.
  • When offering contracts you can now choose a role for the player you’re trying to sign eg Crucial Player, Important Player, Future Star. This expectation will effect whether a player chooses to join your club.
  • Prior to making a firm offer you can now make an Enquiry to find out whether a player is available and how much the club want for them.
  • You can now make offers for players directly from media stories by pressing the left stick.
  • A new Financial Strictness setting will limit the percentage of players sales that go back in to your transfer budget (chosen at the start of CM).

Breaking News

  • A new “Sky Sports” style overlay will now deliver breaking and top news to the Career Mode hub.

Edit Players

  •  You now have the ability to edit player appearance during your Career Mode seasons. This option can be unlocked via the new EASFC Catalogue.

User Interface

  • You can now read news articles from the media pane whilst the game is advancing.
  • The first time you enter Career Mode menus a tutorial overlay appears to guide you through each panes function."
Wasn't that amazing guys and girls?!?!!! Im so excited for FIFA 13 now. Please read the previous post i wrote and feedback if you can. Thanks!

GTA 5, YouTube, New Name

Hey hey hey guys I know its been a while but what can i say? I've been busy... being lazy. To tell the truth I've been leaving all my coursework too long that I only have a few weeks left of my summer holiday! So I best get started! Unless you would like to do it for me? Anyway lets get to it..
Speaking of Niko.. Check the resemblance!

If like me you are a humungous GTA fan, so much that you want to find Niko Bellic and wear his skin (just me?), you may be itching and twitching while Rockstar tease  us with their lack of a release date announcement. I certainly find my self looking at various articles on google that usually lead to me getting more excited. But good news guys I have found a vaccine if you like. It comes in the form of YouTuber Olli43 (channel and twitter linked below). Alongside doing other videos of different games Olli43 keeps me and several thousand others satisfied while we wait for GTA 5. Any news that springs up and you will be sure to know. I know a lot of you want to be kept in the know with GTA 5 so give Olli43's channel a subscribe.

In other news I am thinking of rebranding my blog and starting up a YouTube channel. 'Posh Boy Game Reviews' is the name i thinking of. Please feedback on what you think of the name! Also I need your guys help concerning how I'm going to do my reviews as YouTube videos. Really need some ideas here guys I'm not so sure how to do it at the moment!

FIFA 13 Preview

The FIFA series is the Call of Duty of footballing games, and no it’s not called soccer for you American readers, as it isn’t really competing with other footballing games any more. Instead FIFA, like Call of Duty, is competing with itself and its earlier titles. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get my hands on a copy but I’ve read some reviews and gathered up an opinion about the footballing game giant. And if I’m correct fans should be excited!

Features
So let’s get stuck in. For a long, long time FIFA games have tried to replicate the beautiful game and the 2012/13 edition of the game takes that one step closer. The ‘big thing’ that FIFA fans will notice is the players first-touch. For example, in the previous games Lampard might do a nice lobbed through ball over the defense to Torres who would collect the ball nicely as if it were glued to his feet – weather he would go on and score is another thing but I won’t get into that for you Chelsea fans out there. As nice as this is for players it simply isn’t realistic. In FIFA 13 then, how well a footballers touch is will be based upon their overall score. So Van Persie in the prem may have better first touches than League Two striker Burges. Which may be annoying if, like me, you start your manager mode in the lower leagues. I guess I don’t mind though as it is a step closer to the realism FIFA aspires to.
You may realise that every year in the new FIFA trailer (below) they go on about the same drivel being slightly better. This year is no different: Impact engine has been improved, Jostling has been improved and so on.

Gameplay
Along with the improved first-touch players seem to dribble much more fluently after the developers brought a few things over from FIFA Street. Free-Kicks mechanics have also been improved. ‘Hell Yeah’ I hear you say? I know, I can never score them either! Free-Kicks in FIFA 13 are blessed with loads of new options such as fake kick takers, lobbing the ball forward for players to head it in or playing it into space. This will hopefully allow the lesser skilled or shit – as some like to call my skill level – gamers to capitalize from more set pieces. When defending a free-kick you can add players to the wall, shimmy the wall forward and even run towards the free kick taker when the whistle blows.

Verdict
Other than the above EA have not released any game mode news but unless there are major shocks I guess we know what to expect. The gameplay on the pitch though is a step closer to that realism and that simply is great. More news will be on the way and I’m sure all you footy fans will want to buy the game!
